"The Andy Griffith Show" is one of those things that everyone likes, at least a little, and if people tell you they don't, they are either lying to you, or there is something wrong with them. It is just that simple. 

The show was shot in the 60s, but its vibe is much earlier than that. The whole thing evokes a period that has gone by and will never be seen again. The show is set in a fictional town called Mayberry and features Andy, who is a widowed sheriff with a young son named Opie, they live with Andy's Spinster aunt and housekeeper, Aunt Bee. Andy has a deputy named Barney Fife, who means well but makes a mess out of things most of the time. The town also has a bunch of regular characters who appear on the show.
