Punk rock isn't just a type of music, it is a state of mind. For decades now, people have been pogoing and slam dancing, listening to punk, whether it be skatepunk, hardcore, garage punk, or cowpunk, and throughout all of those years, there have been some really cool punk rock names. That is one of the best things about punk; if your name is "Bob" you don't have to just go by that you can go by "Skummy Bob" or maybe even "Dead Bob." Honestly, the sky is the limit, although if you are a punk fan, you are probably closer to the gutter than the clouds.

There have been so many totally cool punk rock names through the years, such as Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Captain Sensible, Joe Strummer and Jello Biafra. And don't forget Richard Hell and Johnny Thunders for good measure. With names like that, people wonder these guys were angry? Or maybe it is a chicken or an egg sort of thing; which came first, the punk rock attitude or the punk rock name?
