What Type of Engine Are You?
by Mark Lichtenstein

Do you love engines? Do you understand that engines, like people, are filled with personality? Take this quiz to find out what type of engine you're most like.

Anyone who has ever driven a car or who prides himself or herself on a knowledge of vehicles knows that cars have personalities. And, often, these personalities are based on the car's engine. Imagine if Stephen King's, Christine, the 1958 Plymouth Fury that sucked the life out of the people around it (in more ways than one), prepared to run over her next victim with the whir of a four-cylinder engine. The story in your mind's eye and the 1983 movie based on the book wouldn't be the same, would it? Thank goodness, Christine, like the Fury she is, roared with all of the lust her V-8 engine with twin four-barrel carburetors could muster. Now, that was a car.

Although we hope you're not actually like Christine, you might be more like a large engine than a small one or more like a diesel engine than an electric one. We will know which type you most resemble based on your answers to the 30 questions in this quiz.

On your mark. Get set. Go!
