About This Quiz
The Type A / Type B personality theory was developed to describe two contrasting personality types and their risk of developing specific heart health issues. It states that Type A individuals are ambitious, rigidly organized, impatient, anxious and in one word "workaholics." Type B, on the other hand, have been called relaxed, easy going, creative and cheerful, thus having a much lower stress level. Although highly criticized by various institutions and psychologists, some of the traits exhibited by these groups of people hold true.ÂÂ
First described by two cardiologists Meyer Friedman and Ray Rosenman in the 1950's, Type A personality was thought to be a potential risk factor for heart disease. The two scientists conducted a study that lasted almost a decade and led to the findings that healthy men (between the ages of 35 and 59) with this personality had double the risk of developing coronary heart disease. Later studies concluded that it is associated with the incidence but is not necessarily a risk factor.ÂÂ
Do you know which of these types you are? Well, either way, there's no harm in taking this 'yes' or 'no' quiz to find out or clarify whether you are Type A or Type B.
