Modern life has many advantages, from being able to order excellent noodles to your apartment at 3 a.m. to a greatly reduced chance of a crippling childhood disease; from being able to Insta-stalk your most despised ex to the chance to democratically elect your leaders (more or less).
Still, despite its many wonders, one thing we can all agree on about modern life is that it's really not conducive to sitting down, being quiet, and finding your inner peace. It's just so damn full of distractions. If you live in a city, you can always hear sirens, traffic noise, neighbors' music, the clink and rattle of the restaurant downstairs that's always open until 2 a.m. on the weekends.
Even if you live in the countryside, you still have a house that is full of machines that go ding, beep, and buzz whenever you're trying to switch the heck off. You can try to escape to the wilderness, but you'll still see planes going over and cities glowing on the horizon.
All of this means it's darn hard to connect with that third eye and keep it open, and even harder to do it regularly. Still, some of us are very good at tuning out the mess and tuning in the rest. Are you one of those people? Let's find out!
