About This Quiz

Reincarnation is a process of death and rebirth in another body or as another creature, familiar to many religions. Most famously, Hinduism and Buddhism believe in this phenomenon. The reason for this process, called samsara in Hinduism, is defined as the soul leaving one physical form and entering into and inhabiting another physical form. Each reincarnation is intended to teach some lesson to the soul, honing the characteristics of the soul until one day, the soul achieves nirvana, the state of total and complete enlightenment. In Buddhism, Buddha is believed to be a person who achieved nirvana but chose to remain in the physical world to spread the lessons that brought him to enlightenment.

Reincarnation is an interesting numbers game. Sure, there are far more humans today than there were centuries ago, but there are far fewer animals alive today than centuries ago. Over time, souls spread from one form to another, according to the belief, meaning that you may have spent generations as grasshoppers and moles before ever spending a day as a human being. The end result is the same: you are a human reading this now, having learned certain lessons, the extent of which we can measure, and use to determine how many lives you've lived. Take this quiz and find out how many times you've been reincarnated.
