Have you ever stopped to wonder just who invented kissing?  It's clearly much harder to pin down than something as simple as the computer or high-heeled shoes.  Such a ubiquitous interaction has origins we could probably never hope to really figure out, but we can make some guesses.  

The first references to kissing are literally thousands of years old, appearing in Sanskrit documents. Some have argued that the very act of kissing is an instinctual thing, that there's no inventor of kissing as it's just a thing humans will naturally do to show affection. Honestly, that seems pretty plausible.

Regardless of where kissing came from, it has certainly come a long way. It's a way to say hello or goodbye, a way to express love or friendship, a way to physically express unbridled passion and lust. There's a lot that can be said by lips that aren't even speaking, isn't there?
