Garbage Pail Kids were a predominately trading card series, released in 1985 as a parody of the popular Cabbage Patch Kids. The cards humorously displayed doll-like characters as injured, gross and deformed. The cards were banned in some schools, because they were considered to be inappropriate and a distraction in class.
