Are you ready to take on building your dream home? Well then this is the quiz for you! Getting to the point of taking your dreams and making them a reality is such an empowering moment in life. It can also be so fun! Getting to hand pick every little thing that goes into that house, the land it sits on, and the people who enter it is a special privilege. So take the time to really plan things out, hire the right people, and not go overboard with things you don't really need.
But of course, dream homes aren't always just about what you need. They are also about what you want. The things you want and how you go about making the decisions give good insight into other things in your life that you want. For example, we might be able to guess when you'll get married. Age is really just a number, but for a lot of people, they put a number on when they want to be married by. Whatever the reason for this is, no one really knows when they'll meet the one. But if you take this quiz and design your dream home, we can guess what age you'll be married by!

I want to be near the beach.
I'd like to be close to a city, but that might be hard.
Are you really focused on having a lot of natural light?
Nah, they make lightbulbs like natural light these days.
I need all of the natural light.
Some natural light is good, but it could effect energy costs.
I like a lot of morning sun.
What area of the house will have the most windows?
I want a lot in the kitchen.
Do you know what type of heating you want?
I want two different zones for upstairs and down.
I love radiant heating, but it's so old school.
How long do you want this build of your dream home to take?
A year seems like enough time
I would wait two years for my dream home.
I want it done in 18 months.

I've been collecting ideas for years.
How many floors will your house have?
I'm good with a spacious one level home.
I would like two main levels with an attic or basement space.
Do you need more than two bedrooms?
I need at least four bedrooms.
Will there be coordinating bathrooms to the number of bedrooms?
Yes, but not every bedroom will have a bathroom.
I would love a bathroom in each bedroom, plus a powder room.
Will your dream home have a general color scheme?
Nope, it will be all different.
Everything will be neutral shades.
I would like for there to be a general design scheme.

I love the look of stone.
Are there things you are adding to plan for the future in this home?
A space that can be used as a playroom
Where do you envision spending most of your time?
In my luxurious master bathroom

Will all of the bedrooms be on the same floor?
The home will be all one floor, so yes.
How many fireplaces will your dream home have?
I'd like one in the living room and one in the master bedroom.
Oh at least three for sure
Are you going high end with your kitchen appliances?
I actually like a vintage look.
What about flooring? Are you going with carpet, hardwood, tile or something else?
It'll change depending on the room.
Mostly hardwood, but some carpet
Tile in the kitchen but hardwood everywhere else
Do you think you're able to separate your needs from what your wants?
Probably not to be honest
Yes, that's a lesson I've learned the hard way.

There's more important things.

Entertaining all the time
I want it to be earthy, natural and clean.
Do you like the look of separated rooms or open floor plan?
I like the look of both, so I'll incorporate both.
I could go either way honestly.
The more open the better.
Will you have a pantry in the kitchen?
Just a few cabinets will work
I don't really need a separate pantry.
A full pantry is absolutely needed.
I need a whole separate room.
Do you want a lot of land for activities?
Not too much, it's a lot to take care of.
Enough for a deck and a pool.
I would love a ton of land for chickens and stuff.
As long as I have space for a giant garden I'm good.
What about a separate laundry room?
I'm good with a stackable washer and drier.
I would love that if I can afford it.
A full mudroom is a must.
A small one would be perfect
