In fact, the series was so well received that it was not only introduced in the United States but also in Latin America, Europe, India, and Australia. While the prequel series "Dragon Ball" has some characters that are specific to it, this quiz will only challenge you with the iconic characters from the Dragon Ball series.

Baba Uranai, also known as Fortuneteller Baba, is actually Master Roshi’s older sister!
Bulma is Dr. Briefs’ and Panchy’s second daughter. She has been a "Dragon Ball" character since the very first episode. She is a brilliant scientist who used to be Yamcha’s girlfriend and is currently Vegeta’s wife. Their children are Trunks and Bra.
Goku’s original Saiyan name is Kakarot. He is the son of Bardock. His hair color changes from black (in his normal form) to golden (in his Super Saiyan form) to deep red (in his Super Saiyan God form) and then to blue (in his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form).
Despite his nice attitude and peaceful nature while fighting alongside the Z Fighters, he is always cold towards Goku, whom he was initially programmed by Dr. Gero to eliminate.
Yamcha used to be a desert bandit. Since becoming a friend and ally of Goku, Yamcha has also developed into one of the most powerful humans on the planet.
The daughter of Bulma and Vegeta, her father wanted her to have a Saiyan name, Eschalot, but Bulma chose to name her Bra/Bulla instead. She's a Saiyan and Earthling hybrid, like her brother.
Doctor Gero starts out as human but becomes Android 20 when he creates an exact replica of himself and implants his brain into it. He's the creator of the Red Ribbon Androids.
Originally a human named Lapis, he and his twin sister Lazuli were kidnapped by Dr. Gero and restructured into Android 17 and Android 18, respectively.
Burdock (also known as Bardock) led a small team of four other Saiyans, with whom he traveled to various planets and destroyed their defenses to prepare them for Frieza’s Planetary Market.
Bulma’s father, the founder of Capsule Corporation, is an extremely rich, brilliant, eccentric scientist. He built Saiyan-compatible gravity chambers for Vegeta (his son-in-law) and Goku to train in.
Despite his lacking physical power, Guldo was accepted into the Ginyu Force due to his psychic abilities. These include his ability to freeze time for as long as he can hold his breath.
Majin Buu takes many forms throughout the series. A few of these are: Kid Buu, Innocent Buu, Evil Buu, Future Super Buu and Miss Buu. He is reincarnated as Oob.
Krillin is often used as a source of comic relief, cracking jokes in even the most bizarre or dangerous situations. He’s also the character to have been killed the most times in the "Dragon Ball" series.
The Kaiōshin or Supreme Kais are the 5 ultimate Gods of the universe. They protect both the living world and Other World. Buu killed all but one of them who is now simply known as Shin.
Mr. Popo is the servant of first Kami, then Dende (following Kami’s death). After some criticism, his color was changed from black to royal blue in some airings of the series.
Gohan’s power was recognized at an early age. He was trained by Piccolo and was the one who eventually killed Cell after Cell had defeated Goku. He is Pan's father.
Jaco is a klutzy member of the Galactic Patrol. The Saiyan threat that was detected on Earth and which caused Jaco to be sent to the planet, was in fact Goku as a child.
Yajirobe loves food, in particular the steamed pork buns he is frequently seen eating. He is often the one to deliver healing Senzu Beans to Goku and the other Z fighters.
Vegeta comes from the planet Vegeta and is the son of King Vegeta. He is also the great-great-grandfather of Vegeta, Jr. He is the prince of the Saiyans.
Cell get his name from the method behind his creation. He is composed of the cells of Earth’s greatest fighters -- good and bad -- and so has the traits and abilities of all of them.
Beerus’ attendant Whis never sleeps. One of his special abilities is automatic reaction, whereby his body can sense and respond to threats without him being consciously aware of them.
Although Trunks looks a lot like his father, Vegeta, he has the same blue eyes as his mother, Bulma. His hair is blue, just like Dr. Brief, his maternal grandfather.
Frieza is a member of the Frieza Clan. He has an older brother named Cooler and their father is named King Cold. They are descendants of Chilled. Frieza’s counterpart in Universe 6 is called Frost.Frieza is the destroyer of planet Vegeta.
Puar has shapeshifting abilities. In fact, he uses this talent to turn into a pair of giant scissors and cut off Goku’s tail the very first time Goku transforms into a giant ape.
He is sometimes referred to as King Piccolo or Piccolo the Great Demon King. He is pure evil, since all the goodness that existed in his original form (the Nameless Namekian) became Kami – Earth’s Guardian and creator of the Dragon Balls.
Captain Ginyu switched bodies with Goku, giving Goku his badly wounded body instead. Later, after Goku gets his body back, Captain Ginyu unintentionally switches bodies with a frog!
Android 18’s original mission is to kill Goku. Eventually, she becomes the wife of Krillin, Goku’s best friend. She and Krillin have a daughter named Marron.
One of the Kaiō-sama is King Kai. He is king of the North Area and becomes Goku's trainer and mentor. Later, he also trains Chiaotzu, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan and Yamcha.
This small human resembles a ghost or Jiangshi with his white skin and red cheeks. He once sacrificed himself in an attempt to save his friend and was later brought back to life by the Namekian Dragon Balls.
Chi-Chi is the only character whose name consists of one word said twice. As a child, Chi-Chi's outfit was made up of a blue bikini, a green cape, a pair of pink boots and a pink helmet.
