Nicholas Sparks is a writer known for romantic and plot-twisting masterpieces. With the use of Hollywood's best actors and sexy settings, his movies continue to send goosebumps down your spine. See how many Nicholas Sparks movies you can name from their screenshot.

One of the most romantic movies of all time, "The Notebook" has become a classic love story. The film's director, Nick Cassavetes, cast Ryan Gosling as Noah because he thought Gosling wasn't handsome. But right after the movie was released, Gosling quickly became Hollywood's newest sex symbol.

A writer from the Chicago Tribune, Theresa Osborne, goes on a vacation alone and finds a mysterious bottle on a beach. Little does she know that the anonymous love letter inside will change her life forever.

"The Longest Ride" is the tenth adaptation of Sparks' novels and is directed by Barbershop franchise producer, George Tillman Jr. Sparks loves to join different people from very different worlds and social backgrounds who simply don't mix at all. This time, he made a professional bull rider and a college student who is studying art fall in love.

Paul and Adrienne keep each other warm in a cozy inn on North Carolina's Outer Banks during a hurricane. It would be the perfect love story, except for one detail - Adrienne is married to someone else.

"The Last Song" is set in a small Southern beach town where a father (Greg Kinnear) gets a chance to spend the summer with the reluctant teenager daughter (Miley Cyrus) he hasn't seen for a long time. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common—music.

Our heroine, Katie Feldman, moves to a small town on the North Carolina coast, determined to make a new life for herself. There she meets a handsome widower, Alex, and his children.

Tatum and Seyfried have a great chemistry on-screen, but their characters are just too good to be real. It's a story of love between a brave soldier, John Tyree (Channing Tatum), and an idealistic college student, Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried). When they first meet, it's already obvious that a strong romance is starting between them.

"The Notebook" is probably the most famous Nicolas Sparks movie. The romantic, sweet story focuses on mill worker Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and rich girl, Allie (Rachel McAdams), who meet each other in 1940s South Carolina and quickly fall in love.

U.S. Marine Sgt. Logan Thibault returns home from Iraq with the one thing that kept him alive: a photograph of a woman he doesn't even know. He is determined to find her.

After 20 years apart, former high school sweethearts, Dawson and Amanda, reunite when they return to their hometown to attend a friend's funeral. The reunion re-ignites the love neither of them has forgotten.

Mandy Moore, the singer, stars as Jamie Sullivan, a shy but independent Christian girl who has values and goals in life. Others often laugh at her because she is different and always wears the same old, blue sweater. But there is one guy at school who sees how beautiful she really is - both inside and out.

Many consider "The Choice" to be the worst adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel. A movie that touches upon the same topics as the popular movie, "The Notebook," "The Choice" is too predictable, even for a typical love story.

This dramatic love story was filmed in North Carolina . Two North Carolina coastal cities, Southport and Wilmington, had starring roles. It would be a typical love story if not for Jo - the ghost of Alex's dead wife - who wants to make sure that Katie is a good replacement.

"Dear John" tells the heartbreaking story of two young people who fall in love but fail to find happiness together. It is, after all, an adaptation of a Nicolas Sparks novel. The romance between handsome John Tyree, an Army Special Forces soldier home on two weeks' leave, and Savannah, a pretty girl who immediately falls in love with him, becomes complicated after the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Like every man in his group, John re-enlists. While he is away from home, the love of his life starts seeing another man.

The prefect screen couple - Diane Lane and Richard Gere - are together again. This time, Gere plays Paul, a surgeon, and Lane is Adrienne, a mother of two, separated from her husband.

The romantic drama, "Dear John," went to #1 in its opening weekend in the U.S., becoming the film to finally end the reign of James Cameron's, "Avatar," which had sat at the top of the box office for seven weeks.

Most of the scenes in "Message in a Bottle" (1999) were filmed in Northport and Popham Beach, Maine. Over $250,000 of renovations were done to the seasonal home that eventually became Garret's house. The crew had to add the room which held Catherine's artwork and faux fireplace, among other things. However, at the end of filming, the owner of the house demanded that the house be returned to its original state, costing the production company nearly as much to undo as it took to renovate.

"Best of Me" is set in 1984 and tells the story of Dawson and Amanda, two former high school sweethearts who reunite after 20 years apart. Originally, Paul Walker was supposed to play Dawson, but James replaced the "Fast & Furious 7" actor after Walker's death.

"A Walk to Remember" is one of best teenager movies about first love. It shows how Jamie's example made Landon into a nicer person, encouraging him to become more kind, mature, and serious. This movie is a pleasure to watch, nothing like the typical, modern-day Hollywood portrayal of teenagers.

Escape everyday life with this beautiful tale of passionate and sincere love. Since Nicholas Sparks is originally from North Carolina, he often sets his novels and his movies in the state. "The Choice" is the fifth Sparks movie to be filmed in NC.

One of the most creative and unusual of Sparks' movies, "The Last Song" stars Miley Cyrus as a rebellious 16-year-old who has to spend the summer with her dad on an idyllic island paradise off Savannah, Georgia. Since her parents are separated, she is not very close with her dad. This is their only chance to reunite.

This romantics Sparks movie follows Katie (Julianne Hough), who flees an abusive spouse to hide out in a small North Carolina town and meets her true love. Handsome Alex (Josh Duhamel), is a widower with two kids. He fixes things, like bicycles and ... broken hearts. Katie won't be able to resist for long.

The name of this movie is inspired by the letters Savannah writes to John. "Dear John" is military slang for a letter a girlfriend writes to a soldier to break up with him. The character of Alan was inspired by Nicholas Sparks' son, who has Asperger's Syndrome - a form of autism.

"The Longest Ride" is another Nicholas Sparks adaptation that marks the tenth movie based on one of the author’s romance novels. This film is also focuses on people who are in love - a bull rider and a young, innocent, and romantic college student who loves art.

Directed by Ross Katz, a co-producer on two Oscar-nominated movies for Best Picture, "The Choice" is the romantic tale of a passionate love affair, based on the best-selling book of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. Our heroes are Travis (Benjamin Walker, mostly known for his role in “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”), and his cute, medical-student neighbor, Gabby (Australian actress Teresa Palmer).

"The Notebook" was filmed in reverse. All the older Allie and Noah scenes that star Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling were filmed first. Gosling then had to lose 20 pounds during Christmas vacation and shave off his beard to become the younger, fresh-faced Noah who falls in love with Allie while on the Ferris wheel.

College sorority sister, and art history major, Sophia, meets cowboy Luke at a fancy rodeo event—he drops his hat, she picks it up—and they instantly fall in love, despite the fact they live totally different lives.

To help a friend, Adrienne is taking care of a rustic inn on an island off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Paul, a talented surgeon, is her only weekend guest. He has booked in to "be by myself," he says, and also to "find someone new to talk to." To sum up, these two beautiful, unhappy people stay alone in a romantic beachfront inn while a hurricane is approaching. What can be more romantic than that?

Who doesn't love a good romance? "The Lucky One" is definitely one of the best romantic movies out there. Even though the role of Logan was originally written with Ryan Gosling in mind, Zac Efron did his best when starring in this movie. It's a real pleasure to watch him running around in those tight military pants.

After it was thrown in the waves, this bottle could have ended up anywhere. Theresa Osborne finds the bottle, and the anonymous love letter inside changes everything. The message was the only way Garret knew to express the love for a woman he has lost. For Theresa, the letter was the beginning of something new and exciting...

The film opens on an oil rig where 39-year-old Dawson Cole (James Marsden) almost died but somehow managed to survive. Shortly after, he learns that his friend and mentor, Tuck, has died. Cole must then return to New Orleans where he reunites with Amanda (Michelle Monaghan), his girlfriend from 20 years ago.

Moore was just 17 years old and Shane West was 23. West was the oldest guy Moorehad ever kissed. He was also her first onscreen kiss! They still keep in touch via e-mail.

Gabby is a strong woman with her own point of view. Travis Shaw is a handsome ladies man with no intention of settling down. Nevertheless, they end up together and eventually realize they are perfect for each other. By the way, Teresa’s son stars in the film as the couple’s baby boy.

Taylor Lautner was up for the part of Will before Liam Hemsworth got it. Hemsworth had recently moved to the U.S. from Australia, and had only been in the country for three weeks before landing the part.

Most of "Safe Haven" takes place in Southport, a perfect place for a romantic drama. There are a lot flashbacks and scenes with Tierney hunting for Katie, mixed with serene romance-building scenes between Katie and Alex. By the end of the movie, all the plot threads are tied up for one "gotcha!" moment.

"Dear John" was the first Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation not distributed by Warner Brothers. This movie was difficult to make, and the ending was hastily re-shot, since the audience didn't like the original.

Scott Eastwood, the actor who played a bull rider in "The Longest Ride," actually tried riding the bull – he lasted 2.5 seconds (however, to be considered a complete ride, it needs to last a minimum of 8 seconds).

At first, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were considered for the lead roles in "The Notebook." Eventually, Ryan Gosling and Rachel Adams got the parts. However, they didn't get along at all. Despite Noah and Allie's intense chemistry on screen, behind the scenes, Ryan and Rachel couldn't stand each other.

"Nights in Rodanthe" is the third film in which these two actors, Diane Lane and Richard Gere, worked together. According to the writer, the two lead characters were, in part, created after real-life events around which he and his wife, Cathy, began their relationship.

Originally, Frankie Muniz was considered for the lead role in "The Lucky One." But producers felt that Efron was a better option. We feel they made the right choice.

"Message in a Bottle" certainly aspires to be one of those sweeping romances. Garret Blake (Kevin Costner of "The Postman"), plays a shipwright from North Carolina who lost his wife, Catherine, two years earlier. He writes a love letter to her, puts it into a bottle, and throw it into the water. Who knew the message would help him find the new love of his life...

Directed by Michael Hoffman, "The Best of Me" began its production in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 6, 2014 for a short, 42-day shoot. The movie is set in 1984 and it's one of the most sincere romantic dramas on film. Perfect for those moments when you want to cuddle up on the couch with your partner (or pets) and watch a good movie.

Interesting fact: Moore’s mother bought her the book, "A Walk to Remember," before it was popular or anyone had even considered turning it into a film. Moore loved the story from the moment she started reading it. And just like her character, Moore describes herself as religious.

"Best of Me" is one of those Nicolas Sparks stories that were changed completely and look different on-screen. In fact, the book and movie are so different, you may think they are two completely different stories. The book is set in Oriental, North Carolina, while the movie takes place in Louisiana.

Did you know that Switchfoot, a relatively unknown Christian band at the time, was chosen to record the movie’s soundtrack just because Moore was a big fan?

"The Choice" was released just in time for Valentine's Day. It stars Benjamin Walker (famous New York stage actor) and Teresa Palmer (you've probably seen her in "Warm Bodies") as your typical Sparks couple.

Miley and Liam sing a lot of amazing songs in "The Last Song," including "She Will Be Loved." In real life, Kelly Preston, who plays Miley's character's mom in the movie, appears in the "She Will Be Loved" music video. What a coincidence!

The settings Sparks picks are always hard to resist: for "Safe Haven," he chose the cozy, sleepy fishing town of Southport, with peaceful backdrops of pretty sunsets nearly all the time.

Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum made the perfect couple for this movie. Seyfried even wrote the song Savannah sings to John. Titled "Little House," the song is featured on the movie's soundtrack.

This is one of the best Nicholas Sparks movies that is not a typical love story. "The Last Song" is a serious -- yet entertaining -- movie about the relationships between parents and their kids and, of course, the unifying power of music.
