About This Quiz

A monarch is defined as "the sovereign head of state in a type of government, dynasty or state". They are able to exercise the highest authority and power in the country, often helping in the lawmaking process. A monarch usually inherits the right to be the head of state, but there have also been occasions where people have married into the family and others by winning wars. There are also monarchs which are able to rule over multiple monarchies at the same time.

A monarch's title can range from king, queen, prince and princess to emperor and empress and archduke, grand duke and duchess to sultan and sheik. In today's society, the monarchs may not possess the same power that they once did and titles are usually used as a form of respect, but most of them do have a role in the affairs of the government.

How well do you know the monarchs around the world and will you be able to identify which country they reign over? If you were given an image of these royals, would you be able to identify them? Only 1 in 30 people are able to do it, so will you be one of them? The only way to find out is to take this quiz!
