The last Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," was released back in 2011, but the passage of time has done nothing to diminish how much people love the series. With the release of the play, "The Cursed Child," Harry Potter fans around the world were once again excited about having the tiniest slice of information about the Boy Who Lived. But, we must admit, we would have liked if the series had about, oh say, seven more books. That way, we would have more movies and more time to memorize the actual names of the actors who played our favorite characters. 

Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling only gave us seven, so we have to make do. We got eight movies and a bunch of characters who made the characters come to life. But do you know their names? No, we're not talking about matching the actors with their Harry Potter names. We want to know if you can match these Harry Potter actors to their real life, birth names.

It's easy to remember Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. But who are Helena Bonham Carter, John Cleese and Ian Hart? It's time to see if you can match the Harry Potter character to their actual name. 

He is well-known for his role as Lord Voldemort's greatest rival, Harry Potter, in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. This English actor made his debut at the age of 10.

Rupert Grint plays an on-screen freckle-faced Ronald Weasley, who was a "pureblood" wizard, in the franchise. He is a British actor and producer who has assisted in the production of the television series "Snatch."

Appearing in all eight films as Hermione Granger, Emma Watson rose to prominence in this role. Outside the magical world, she is a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador, and she advocates for gender equality.

This British actor, Tom Felton, landed the role of Draco Malfoy, Harry's rival, in the Harry Potter series. He is also a talented singer and co-founder of a recording company called Six String Productions.

Alan Rickman is notable for his wizarding skills and cold satire as Severus Snape. He played numerous roles on screen and on stage, up until his death in 2016.

Matthew Lewis' acting career began at the tender age of five, but he is best known as Neville Longbottom. In this role, he played a round-faced blond character who was a member of the Gryffindor house, with a liking for Herbology.

Dame Margaret Smith has a career in film, television and on stage spanning over six decades, with a decade going towards her role as Minerva McGonagall in the films.

This late Irish singer and actor starred as Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of the wizarding school Hogwarts, in the first two Harry Potter films. Richard Harris died in 2002.

Oliver Phelps is a British actor who has played numerous roles in high school drama productions. Alongside his twin brother, he took up the part of George Weasley.

This Scottish actor is known for his role as a half-human and half-giant, Rubeus Hagrid, in the Potter films. Robbie Coltrane has also starred in two James Bond films and other series in the 1990s.

This English director, producer and actor, Ralph Fiennes, is known for his villainous role as Lord Voldemort, spanning from 2005 to 2011. He has other major roles, such as Gareth Mallory in the James Bond film franchise.

Michael Gambon took up the mantle after the death of his late countryman, Richard Harris, in the last six Harry Potter films, starring as Albus Dumbledore.

David Thewlis, formerly known as David Wheeler, is famous for his role as Professor Remus Lupin. His character was the best friend of Harry's father, as well as a werewolf and half-blood wizard.

Robert Pattinson is a multi-talented actor who began his film career in the role of Cedric Diggory. In the adaptation of the "Goblet of Fire" novel, he was selected as Hogwarts' champion in the Triwizard Tournament.

James Phelps starred alongside his identical twin brother as Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter saga. In their on-screen roles, they are always up to some mischief.

Bonnie Francesca Wright plays the fictional character "Ginny" Weasley in J.K. Rowling's book adaptations. In addition to being an actress, she is a producer, film director and screenwriter.

Gary Leonard Oldman is praised for the versatility in his roles and is regarded as one of the greatest screen actors of his generation. He was cast as Sirius Black in four of the eight film adaptations.

Alfred Enoch is best known for playing Dean Thomas, a Gryffindor student in the Harry Potter films. He is a British actor who is also known for his role in "How to Get Away with Murder."

Natalia Tena is a British actress of Spanish parentage. She portrayed Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter films, who was married to Remus Lupin. She is also recognized for her role as Osha on the television series, "Game of Thrones."

Dame Julie Walters, commonly referred to as Julie Walters, starred in seven of the eight Harry Potter films as Molly Weasley. Her list of accolades includes four BAFTA TV Awards, two BAFTA Film Awards and the 2014 BAFTA Fellowship.

This British actor plays Professor Filius Flitwick, head of Ravenclaw and Charms master, as well as Griphook, one of the goblins employed at Gringotts Bank in the films.

Helena Bonham Carter, an English actress, portrayed the first female Death Eater and most devoted Voldemort follower, Bellatrix Lestrange, in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and proceeding movies.

This actor was introduced as Lucius Malfoy, the father of Draco Malfoy. He was the main antagonist in the film "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," when he planted Tom Riddle's diary in Ginny Weasley's potions cauldron.

Jamie Waylett had the role of Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter movies. He appeared in six of the eight films as a follower of Malfoy, where he intimidated fellow students.

This English actor, Adrian Rawlins, is best remembered for his role as James Potter. He was the father of Harry Potter in the movies and it was from him that Harry inherited his Quidditch skills.

Katie Leung is a Scottish television, film, and stage actress, known for her portrayal of Cho Chang, Harry Potter's primary love interest, in the movies.

Joshua Herdman, affectionately referred to as Josh, is an English mixed martial artist and actor. He appeared as Gregory Goyle in all of the Harry Potter films, serving as one of Draco Malfoy's cronies.

Emma Thompson portrayed the Professor responsible for Divination, Sybill Trelawney, in three of the Harry Potter films - namely, "The Prisoner of Azkaban," "The Order of the Phoenix" and "The Deathly Hallows: Part 2."

Irish-born actor Devon Murray played the role of Seamus Finnigan in J.K. Rowling's blockbuster movies. He was the best friend and housemate of Dean Thomas.

Ian Hart is recognized for taking on the role of Quirinus Quirrell in the film "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." As the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Quirrell is a secret follower of Lord Voldemort.

As Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody in the Harry Potter series, Brendan Gleeson plays a highly praised and respected Auror in the Wizarding World. In this role, the Irish actor has captured numerous wizard criminals, losing body parts along the way.

The English actor Richard Griffiths was notable amongst the Harry Potter fans for his role as Harry's Uncle Vernon and head of the Dursley household. Before his death in 2013, he had received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor, amongst others.

The late Verne Troyer is well recognized for his portrayal of Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films as well as in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." The American comedian, actor and stunt performer was notable for his height of 2 feet 8 inches, making him one of the shortest men in the world.

This English-Australian actress took on the on-screen role of J.K. Rowling's Pomona Sprout, Professor of Herbology. In these films, she played a grey-haired, shabby-robed witch.

David Bradley is known for playing Argus Filch, caretaker of Hogwarts, in the series. As an unpopular member of the staff, he wanders the corridors in search of defiant students.

Sean Biggerstaff played Oliver Wood, the captain and keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. In his seventh year, this Scottish wizard, through sheer will and determination, led the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory.

John Marwood Cleese appeared on screen as a ghost in J.K. Rowling's first two film adaptations, portraying the character Nearly Headless Nick.

Sir John Vincent Hurt's screen and stage career spanned over five decades, until his death in 2017. The English actor was considered one of Britain's finest, with one of his roles being Mr. Ollivander in two of the films.

Harry Edward Melling is known as Dudley Dursley in the movies, Harry's only cousin and the sole child of his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon.

Fiona Shaw is an Irish actress known for her role as Harry's aunt, Petunia Dursley. In the films, she is the older sister of Harry's mom, Lily Potter.
